Questioning Skill

Today was the time for the second simulators take their turn in practicing questioning skill. Before we go further toward its simulation, it would be better to talk about its criteria. The criteria for basic questioning skill are:

-expressing questions clearly and briefly 
(in here the teacher trainee should give the students a simple question which enable the student to understand it easily)

-giving reference
( there is reference before questioning)
example: If you are a rich person, what will you do? (Conditional tense, types 1)
Another example: Look at the picture! What place is it? (Picture of Tanah Lot Temple)

-Focusing
questioning the student from broader questions to the specific one

-Redirecting (giving turn to the other students answering the same questions in order to complete it)
"do you have different opinion?"
"anybody want to give additional info?"
"anybody want to clarify it to be the complete one?"
etc

-Distributing turns
Give equal chance to all of students randomly to answer different questions (Different questions to different students)

-Giving students adequate time to think
(teacher pauses three or five second after asking a question to allow the students to think.

-Prompting
(It deals with how the teacher probes initial student's answer and encourage them to complete, clarify, expand or support their answers)
