Singing in A Heavy Downpour

Is there anything which is interesting to do when a downpour fell down heavily to The Earth? Nothing is interesting to do. I just didn’t wanna go anywhere. But, something said different. It was a must for me to go to my friend’s boarding house finishing the literature project that we had. In a drizzle night, I passed the road without wearing any raincoat. In the end, my cloth was a bit wet when arrived there.

In my friends’ boarding house, Intan, Trik and I were singing a beautiful poem which is written by Robert Frost. Unfortunately, one of my friends, Ucik has backed to her boarding house picking up by her boyfriend. All of us sang the poem with spirit. We felt satisfied with our practice. Even though there was no live music followed our practice, we enjoyed it so much. Again and again we repeated to sing the poem. Bit by bit we began to memorize it. We were able to sing the poem without take a look on the note. Finally, there was an interesting thing to do in a heavy downpour day, singing a marvelous poem of a well-known poet. Dapus

Crying while Doing Assignment

What’s going on with us? Why did we cry while doing an assignment yesterday night? It wasn’t because of the assignment was too difficult or we can’t answer the question. It was because when we did it, we also shared a touching story about O’s and A’s father.  Yesterday 19th of February 2014, O, A and I did our pragmatic assignment at O’s house.

We felt different nuance yesterday. We talked about a struggle of a father in a particular foreign country. We were talking about a father who sacrifices his smile, thought and energy for their son, daughter, and his wife. He is willing to adapt with four seasons which are too difficult for us, Indonesian adapt with that kinds of situation. The most touching thing is the father send his family some photos of him while doing some activities in winter with full of smile. Behind of all photos was written different touching message that one of them asked “Does the photos show a joyful smile?” It succeed make our tears fall down heavily. Through this story I learn much about how to appreciate our parents’ effort. We should appreciate the entire thing that our parents have done to full fill our needed. Never be ashamed to say “I love you father, I love you mother” to our parents before it is too late to say so.  Dapus
