A
warm and high appreciation should be given to all classes of fifth semester,
English Education Department. They have done the amazing drama performances.
Five scripts written by Kadek Sonia Piscayanti were performed. Those five
scripts were My Dearest Sister; Because I Am Who I Am; Story of A Tree; A
Mother and A Monster; and Schizophrenia. The performance was held in Wantilan
Kampus Bawah UNDIKSHA from 24th of December 2013 to January 6, 2014.
First
performance which entertained the audience was My Dearest Sister. Class 5D
succeeded in attracting many audiences to see their best effort on 24th
of December 2013. My Dearest Sister told about a college student, a girl who was
interested with her lecturer.
Unfortunately the lecturer didn’t have the same feeling with that girl. The
worst thing, the lecturer was the boyfriend of her mother who was a widow too
long. At the end of the performance, spectacular fireworks brightened the sky.
No
longer off, two days later came up with the second entertainment. I Am Who I Am
from Abstract Production was successful in making a wonderful rain in the
middle of the stage. At the end of the performance, audience who wanted to give
comment, criticism or suggestion was invited to speak their opinions up. Also,
Kadek Sonia Piscayanti as the lecturer faithfully gave her suggestion and
criticism toward all performances at the end of the show. It was not only for
Abstract Production Performance but also for the previous and the following
drama performances.
Next
three days on 29th of December, it was time for Alih Kredit class
showed their ability on acting. As same as class 5D, they had performed My
Dearest Sister drama performance. Using two stages is one of several points
which differentiated it with the five days previous performance. Also, the only
one that used a trailer as the opening was Alih Kredit class.
The
fourth drama performance, Story of A Tree by class 5E amused the audience on
the second day of the New Year 2014. 5E prepared awesome Kampus Bawah’s jepun
tree as the stage background of their drama performance. It was different with
the previous year. In the previous year the performance used a fake frangipani
tree. Meanwhile this year used the real tree as the background of the stage. Here,
almost all of 5E class member participated as actors and actresses. As ending
of the performance, EXCELENT banner was shown which followed by colorful small
pieces of papers were falling down at the same time.
The
fifth performance from Bringing Production was the only one which performed
under the rain. It made the show begun late. Fortunately, A Mother and A
Monster performed an awesome performance. The land character brought a huge
different if it was compared with the previous year’s performance. Kadek Sonia
Piscayanti said that their performance was the best from the other classes by
far.
The
last as the closing one was Schizophrenia. It was brought by class 5C on
January 6, 2014. The setting of this performance is mostly colored by paintings
everywhere. It made the situation more artistic. Its performance succeeded in
creating awesome atmosphere around. The lecturer thought twice to decide the
best performance. That night became tough
night for her to decide.
Eventually,
Kadek Sonia Piscayanti announced the award. She delivered her speech and announced
such a high appreciation for I Putu Anjas Widya Kusuma and Ngurah Agung Riski
Restuaji as the best friend of all classes, highest appreciation for I Gede
Yoga Permana who has supported drama performance from beginning till the end.
She also announced many rewards that were provided. I Made Pasek Suwarbawa was
come out as best actor; Best actress of the year is Komang Ayu Dian Pertiwi; Best
supporting actresses are Gita Swami and Lusia Widanti; Best chorus of the year came
from two classes, 5B and 5C; Best Musical Arrangement goes to “Story of the
Tree”; Best Director is Gita Swami from Bringing Production, and the most
prestigious award as Best Drama of the Year goes to Schizophrenia and A Mother
and A Monster. That awesome day was ended by having photo together. Dapus
