Love Writing and The Proof

do you love writing?
are you sure?
what is the proof?
how could you say that you love writing but you never wrote anything
how could somebody called you as writer but you don't have any writing work
ehm
than you should begin to write whatever it could be
try to write anything possible
never afraid of writing something that you never wrote before
short story, poem, creative writing, free writing, diary, anything you want
i'll always support you
love you as I love writing

Lovely Thinking

Looking at the star
Seems like looking at you
Starring at the full moon
Feels like starring at you
Enjoying the lake’s flow
As same as drowning into your silence
So peaceful
Full of beauty
Thinking of you is so lovely for me

The Fourth Micro-teaching Simulation

Dewi Setiathi (Learning strategies)
Dewi taught about narrative text this morning. She told the students what is being the general point in Cinderella’s story while showing the pictures of it on the slide. The students were expected to make a note when she was mentioning the series event in Cinderella’s story. Thus the students have to full fill the missing list of the table given. What is being “first”, “next”, “then”, and “last”. Finally she asked one of the students to read her work in front of the class. Thus, in this first activity she used story map as strategy. The second activity was sequencing story. She gave the students a printed material which is told about Lake Batur’s story. In this activity, she asked the students to read first before they write or draw their understanding about the story in the missing sequence story’s table. Finally she asked the students who chose drawing the sequence of the story to bring his work in front of the class and show it to the other students. She ends up the lesson by asking the learners to do the same activity in order make them easier in understanding a story of reading text when they have the same activity as this morning.

Arya Bayu (Individual Learners Differences)
First of all, Bayu had done a very good teaching simulation, he could cope himself into the learning process along with the students through some interesting learning activities under suggestopedia method. Bayu taught the students to describe an animal which they like through some pictures and also with Bayu’s illustration. This kind of technique is to avoid an ambiguity while explaining since each student has different cognitive level and also differ in capability in using the target language. Thus in the teaching simulation, Bayu also provide the students some pictures of animal which sticked on the wall and also the video of animals in the jungle to help the visualisation for the students. And this kind of technique was very eye-catching for the students and that was the best part to break their boredom. Bayu also invited the students to play a game which related to the material, that was how Bayu tried to cope with students whose differ in personality traits and successfully all of the students were active in following the game activities. The games also helped those students with different learning strengths, styles and also preferences, like when Bayu asked Yoga and Doder as the students who best in drawing and for some students who’s good in speaking can help the drawer to illustrate the animal while Yoga and Doder tried to figure the animal itself. And at the end of the game, Bayu closed the class with bright smile covers all over the students’ face.

Dayu Puspa (Teaching English for Young Learners)

At the beginning of the lesson she asked the students what they are going to learn regarding the pictures on the slide, “farmer”, “waiter”, and “writer”. Thus the learner’s answer was “Occupation or asking someone’s job”. First activity was asking the students to watch a video of a song entitled “people in a town” while singing the song together. At the end of the watching section, she asked the students to mention what jobs occurred on the slide. Since the younger learner has short attention span, no longer after that, she moved to the other activities. She gave the second video and asked the learner to do repetition after the video mentioning a certain sentence of someone’s job. The next was she involved the learners to deepen their understanding about “occupation vocabularies” in a form of guessing game. The purpose is to avoid the student’s boredom since they are easily getting bored. To enable the students to socialize and do communication with their friends in the classroom, Dayu Puspa as a teacher at that time asked the learners to move around and then ask the job of their friends’ father. As a follow up, she asked one of the students to report their conversation’s result. Finally, as the last activity, in order to give the students chance to work together, she asked the learners to divide themselves into five groups. Then she asked them to discuss what job the short description would be. When they got the answer through discussion, the leader of the group should look for the suitable picture which has been provided on the teacher’s table and have to stick it next to the description of the job. After that she dismissed the class.
